Projection Mapping
16-projector spatial mapping system at our Tribeca studio, plus off-site mapping we design, build, and run for you.

Projection Mapping
Projection mapping only works when the content, the calibration, and the show operation all come from one team. Handoffs between a creative agency, a video vendor, and an AV crew are where projection projects fall apart. LUME built its studio around a permanent 16-projector installation covering a 7,920 by 1,080 pixel canvas and runs the full stack in-house: TouchDesigner, Resolume Arena, Max/MSP, and real-time content generation using Runway, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and Claude API. That means the concept, the animation, the mapping math, and the person calibrating on show day are all the same people. We produce at 393 Broadway and off-site at venues we scale the system into.

How It Works
Concept and content designed for the surface, not adapted after the fact. Technical mapping, warp, blend, and calibration for any geometry: flat walls, curved architecture, sculptural objects, floors, and multi-surface volumes. Live show operation with an operator on the desk. Integration with lighting, spatial audio, and reactive systems when the brief calls for it.
We start with the surface and the story, then design content that reads correctly at scale and viewing distance. Our team programs the show, calibrates on site, and runs it live. For off-site work we scope projector count, throw distances, and rigging, then bring the same operators who built the show to run it in the venue. Same-day content capture and delivery is available for social and press when the moment matters.

FAQ
Projection mapping treats any surface as the display. Software warps, blends, and calibrates the image so it reads correctly on walls, floors, sculptural objects, or multiple surfaces at once. A projector on a flat screen is a single image on a rectangle. Mapping is spatial.
16 projectors covering a 7,920 by 1,080 pixel canvas across the main immersive room. The system is calibrated and permanent, so shows load in fast and content built for the room hits the exact same coordinates every time.
Yes. We scope projector count, throw distances, and rigging for the space, then send the operators who built the show to run it live. Off-site projection is a confirmed capability.
Both. We build custom content designed for the specific surface, and we can also take content you or your agency created and prepare it for mapping. Content built specifically for the mapped surface will always read better than content adapted after the fact.
Timelines depend on content complexity and surface geometry. A one-night show at our studio using existing content templates can turn around inside two weeks. Custom content for a bespoke off-site build typically runs six to ten weeks from brief to show night.
It scales with projector count, content scope, and show duration. A single-night event at our studio has a different floor than a multi-day off-site install with custom fabrication. Send us the scope and you will get an itemized quote back within 24 hours.
