LUME started in 2016 as a raw room at 393 Broadway and a simple belief: people remember how a room made them feel. Founder Dotan Negrin spent his life in the crafts that make that happen: stages, sets, lighting, sound, cameras. He pointed all of it at one question: what makes a moment feel real? Ten years and 1,700+ events later, the answer hasn't changed. Surprise people. Let them discover something. Give them a reason to connect. Everything else is production detail.



The next ten years are about the room getting bigger. LUME has always been a home for artists: hundreds of shows on these walls, no velvet rope. That's the part we're growing: more artists showing work, more nights that bring downtown together, more experiences built with our community, not just for our clients. Wherever the room is, our building or someone else's, the job stays the same.
