LUME started in 2016 as a raw room at 393 Broadway and a simple belief: people remember how a room made them feel. Founder Dotan Negrin spent his life in the crafts that make that happen — stages, sets, lighting, sound, cameras — and pointed all of it at one question: what makes a moment feel real? Ten years and 1,700+ events later, the answer hasn't changed. Surprise people. Let them discover something. Give them a reason to connect. Everything else is production detail.



The next ten years are about the room getting bigger. LUME has always been a home for artists — hundreds of shows on these walls, no velvet rope — and that's the part we're growing: more artists showing work, more nights that bring downtown together, more experiences built with our community, not just for our clients. Wherever the room is — our building or someone else's — the job stays the same.
